Aristides Hernandez (Ares)

Arístides, also known as Ares, was born on September 2, 1963, in Havana, Cuba. Ares is a well-known cartoonist and illustrator. His work is political, timely, and daring. He has published 18 books of his own and illustrated over 70 others. He serves as the vice-chairman of the Association of Visual Artists of the Cuban Artists and Writers Union (UNEAC) and the vice-chairman of the Comic and Cartoon Cathedral of the International Institute of Journalism Jose Marti.

Ares was born on September 2nd in Havana, Cuba. He graduated from his medical studies in 1987 and obtained the title of psychiatrist in 1993. Even before completing his studies, he began drawing cartoons in 1984. Over the years, his interests expanded to include illustrations, animation for film, and oil painting. He currently lives and works in Havana as a freelance illustrator and artist.
