Since 2018, we have maintained a delightful collaboration with Markus Lüpertz. It all started with designs for the set and costumes for the opera “una cosa rara” at the Stadttheater Regensburg, which we showed in the gallery. The opera was a great success and Markus Lüpertz has been a regular guest in Regensburg since then. In the meantime, several high-quality exhibitions and projects have taken place.

We also had the honor to host the world premiere of his sculpture David, made from 500kg of glass cast in one piece, in May 2023.

Since 2021 Markus Lüpertz has been designing exclusive limited editions in bronze and prints for the ART AFFAIR gallery.

The current figure EUROPA is available as a hand-painted bronze and as a woodcut in four different colourways. You can find more information about the item in the online-shop.

Markus Lüpertz is not only one of the most versatile and successful artists of nowadays, but also knows how to express himself clearly and distinctly and captivates his audience with his charisma during his performances. Therefore it is worthwhile to visit one of his events, either in our gallery or wherever he is performing.

EXHIBITIONS IN ART AFFAIR:

Kirchenfenster (2023)
Parallel to the blessing ceremony of the stained glass windows of St. Ulrich, Markus Lüpertz presents a new exhibition that includes studies of the stained glass windows of St. Andrew in Cologne, works on paper, the kunstmappe Genesis and a monumental glass statue entitled “David”.

Europa (2022)

La Bohème (2022)
At the Staatstheater Meiningen, Lüpertz took over the design of the set and costumes for the Puccini opera La Bohème. The artist also took over the direction, which led to standing ovations at the premiere.
ART AFFAIR shows the original paintings and drawings.

DER GÖTTLICHE FUNKE II (2021)

»Der Göttliche Funke II« is a double-exhibition in cooperation with Diocesan Museum of the Diocese.
